Kannur International Airport Ltd (KIAL) had invited Requests For Proposals
for project consultancy. Based on the proposals received, and after detailed
evaluation, the Board of Directors of the Company selected M/s STUP Consultants
Pvt. Ltd., (STUP) Mumbai, for providing the consultancy services for Kannur
Airport Project.

KIAL have signed agreement with M/s STUP Consultants Pvt. Ltd.,
Mumbai for project consultancy for Kannur Airport Project. M/s STUP have formed
a consortium with M/s Darashaw Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai for providing project
consultancy to KIAL. In addition, M/s STUP have also engaged experts from TERI,
New Delhi and Air Transport & Tourism Advisors India Pvt Ltd., New Delhi for
providing specialist services.

The scope of project consultancy covers:
  1. review of detailed project report and other plans already prepared;
  2. preparation of plans, designs, estimates, etc for both air side and city side facilities as well as equipment for the airport;
  3. assisting the Company in obtaining statutory clearances and approvals required from time to time;
  4. selection of EPC contractor and monitoring and supervision of all contracts as well as construction;
  5. coordination, monitoring, checking, testing and commissioning of the airport, and;
  6. preparation of financial analysis and business plan for the airport.

Earlier, KIAL had engaged Cochin International Airport Ltd (CIAL) for
preparation of detailed project report and design & estimate of the main runway.
The draft reports in this regard have been received and the final reports are expected
shortly.

What is KIAL?

KIAL is Kannur International Airport Limited is a public limited company set up by the Kerala government to build and operate the upcoming Kannur International Airport. was registered in December 2009 as a private limited company and converted into a public limited one in August 2010. Once the land acquisition completed , it will be transferred to KIAL , which is implementing the airport project. The paid up capital of KIAL has been contributed by Kerala government 's public sector , Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC).
